A Sacred Pirts Gathering is an intentional communal ritual rooted in Baltic folk tradition. It offers a meaningful alternative to modern forms of gathering that often rely on excess, distraction, or activities that do not truly nourish the body, heart, or spirit.

A Communal Baltic Sauna Ritual Through the Four Elements

The Latvian pirts is not only a place for individual healing — it has always been a space for community. For generations, people gathered in pirts to mark life transitions, celebrate rebirth, strengthen bonds, and restore harmony within the group.

This ritual is an invitation to come together with your loved ones — friends, partners, family, or community — in a way that is grounded, respectful, joyful, and deeply human. It is a return to shared presence, nature, and connection in the heart of a busy modern world. I offer these gatherings in Valencia, bringing ancestral Baltic ritual into a contemporary setting — accessible, inclusive, and held with care.

Fire

Fire warms, activates, and transforms. In the sauna, heat opens the body, softens resistance, and prepares us for release. Fire helps burn away what no longer serves — physically, emotionally, and energetically.

Water

Water carries emotion. Through steam, washing, and cold immersion, we work with emotional release, purification of the heart, and renewal. Water teaches surrender and flow.

Air

Steam, breath, voice, and sacred songs work with the air element. Air clears the mental space, bringing clarity and opening access to intuition and inner knowing.

Earth

Plants, herbs, salt, and whisks come from the Earth. They ground, nourish, protect, and restore the nervous system. Each plant carries both physiological benefits and energetic intelligence.

The Intention of a Sacred Gathering

When people gather consciously, something powerful happens.
The pirts creates a container where connection deepens naturally — without pressure, performance, or expectation.

These gatherings are often chosen to mark:

  • Birthdays as rebirth rituals

  • Bridesmaids’ or pre-wedding gatherings

  • Life transitions or thresholds

  • Friends wishing to reconnect meaningfully

  • Community circles seeking grounding and renewal

  • Groups wanting to celebrate together in a healthy, intentional way

In a world full of noise and external influence, this ritual offers a space to slow down, listen, and remember what truly matters — each other, the body, and the Earth.

Healing in pirts happens through the natural forces we are made of. By moving consciously through these elements, we remember that healing does not come from outside — it arises when the body reconnects with nature and its own wisdom.

The Ritual Journey

Before We Meet

The ritual begins days before our physical meeting.
I connect intuitively with the group’s collective energy, prepare herbal blends, and create the salt scrub marked with Baltic sacred symbols and protective words specifically for your gathering.

Before the event, I will contact you to understand the intention of the group so the ritual can be shaped accordingly.

Intention Setting

We begin by gathering as a group, setting shared intention, and inviting the natural forces to guide the process with clarity and ease.

Heating Rounds

We move through sauna rounds in smaller groups, allowing space for comfort and presence. Herbal steam, plants, and traditional pirts songs open the ritual space and invite the elements.

Somatic, Breath & Voice Work

During the cleansing phase, we may work with breath, natural voice opening, gentle movement, or somatic tools — depending on the group’s energy and needs.

Salt & Herbal Cleansing

A salt and herbal blend — prepared intuitively from Mediterranean and Latvian plants — is applied to cleanse the body and energy field. Heat, touch, and song support release on physical, emotional, and energetic levels.

Herbal Whisk Work — Self Practice

Instead of individual whisking, the group is guided in self-whisking practices. This becomes a powerful way to connect with sacred plants, learn their qualities, and work with them consciously in the sauna setting.

At times, groups may also create their own herbal whisks together, depending on intention and season.

Whisking:

  • Improves circulation and lymphatic flow

  • Relaxes muscles and joints

  • Stimulates the nervous system

  • Works energetically to release stagnation and restore vitality

Plants are invited as allies through song, symbols, and touch.

Plants Used

Depending on season and intuition, I work with:

Baltic Plants

  • Oak — strength, protection, masculine vitality

  • Linden — softness, heart healing, feminine energy

  • Birch — cleansing, renewal, emotional release

  • Juniper — protection, purification, grounding

  • Mugwort & Wormwood — intuition, vision, ancestral connection

Mediterranean Plants

  • Lavender — calming, nervous system balance

  • Rosemary — clarity, circulation, mental focus

  • Sage (Salvia) — purification, wisdom

  • Eucalyptus — breath, release, freshness

All plants are gentle and used with care. Allergies are always discussed in advance.

Cold-Water Immersion

Cold water completes the ritual cycle. It refreshes the nervous system, seals the work, and often brings a shared moment of clarity, presence, and renewal.

Integration & Rest

The ritual closes with rest and quiet integration. When appropriate, we share reflections and grounding practices to support the transition back into daily life.

An Invitation

The Sacred Pirts Gathering does not ask you to believe anything, follow a doctrine, or choose a path.

It simply offers what humans have always gathered around:
Fire. Water. Plants. Breath. Presence. Community.

A space to slow down.
A space to reconnect.
A space to remember that healing happens — together.
